I love making this simple DIY during the holidays! And any leftover, or "goofy" dried slices are perfect to use as gift toppers and decorations!

Here is how you do it: ⋒ Cut oranges into thin slices, the thinner the better, but keep the slice even all around. ⋒ Set oven to 210 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. ⋒ Dry out the orange slices by pressing them between paper towels or regular towels before placing them in the oven. This step makes a big difference in overall time in the oven so dry them out as well as you can.

⋒ Arrange orange slices in a single layer on the baking sheet and put them in the oven.

⋒ Bake for 1 hour. Flip slices. Bake for another hour. Flip again and bake for another 15-20 minutes...repeat this process until they are slightly brown around the edges.

⋒ Your orange slices may become brown before they feel completely dried out. That’s okay, they will continue to dry a little as they cool. Even if they aren’t completely dry they will still work in a garland. The best you can do to make sure they’re completely dried out is give them more time in the oven at a low temperature. You could even try reducing the oven temperature to 190 degrees F and letting them sit for a few more hours, checking + flipping occasionally. Mine took about 3 hours in the oven and they aren’t quite as dry as I would usually like, but they look perfect in the garland!

⋒ Once they are as dry as you would like, use a needle with a big eye + string or yarn or ribbon to hang the orange slices.
